Steps to Convert LP to MP3

Conversion of cassette tapes or LP’s to digital CD’s or MP3 is not that easy or quick. But if you want to convert your hard to find LP’s into MP3, following are the steps which will help you with your task.
The very first equipment that you will be need in this process is the turntable for LP’s and 45’s with a tape deck for cassettes, a stereo with amplifier, a computer with MP3 burning software and sound card and a cable to connect the stereo’s Audio Out connector to your computer.
- Just connect your Line Out or Phones jack to the Line In jack on the computer with the help of the audio cable.
- Start Audacity and select Edit-Preferences and now set recording and playback devices to the sound card.
- You can start recording by pressing the red record button and start playback from the audio source and also make use of blue Pause button between tracks or sides. On completion press the yellow Stop button and save the file by using File-Save.
- After recording, there might be unwanted noise in the recording for example background hum, vinyl record clicks, tape hiss and several other things. In order to remove this noise, you need to select the beginning of the recording where there is a hum and hiss before the music. Just use the mouse of your computer to select at the start of the track.
