Follow these basic set of steps to setup your turntable:
- Make sure the ground wire is grounded to the mixer.
- Make sure the phono plugs go into phono (and not line) inputs on the mixer.
- Make sure your platter is attached.
- Make sure your deck is plugged in (preferably to a surge-protected power bar).
- Make sure the tone arm counter-weight is attached.
- Attach a cartridge and needle to the end of the tone arm.
- Check the balance of the tone arm by moving the counter-weight. There should be a slight downward pressure on the needle as it sits on the record.
- Set the anti-skating somewhere around the middle, and the height of the tone arm around the middle (unless you are an advanced DJ who knows how to set these for personal preference).
- Drop the lift lever, and undo the tone arm lock clip.
- Turn the turntable on, and you should be ready to start using it.
